Machine Design Engineer
Supports, improves, modifies existing production equipment. Designs and creates new production equipment associated with new product development, existing product and line extensions for divisions and business functions.
Designs, using CAD, modifications or new designs to production equipment used to meet the needs of manufacturing and fabrication. Able to assemble said designs and disassemble as needed. Discusses and troubleshoots efficiency and operational problems with operators, management, other engineers and potentially representatives of the various divisions and business functions for which equipment may be provided to. Familiar with PLCs and specifying motors, controllers, linear bearings, sensors, etc.
Works to assist Engineering Technicians in building prototypes, assembling/disassembling, modifying and building production equipment.
Documents drawings and operational procedures for ISO purposes on all projects.
Prepares operational procedures and instructs Process Engineers and Production personnel on new processes; operation of new production equipment, and modifications made to existing equipment.
