The Role

Hunter Douglas is continuing to innovate and improve and we have recently implemented Master Data Governance as a shared service for all of Hunter Douglas North America. We are looking to add to our MDG team with individuals who are passionate about continuous improvement. You will be working with data that is the foundation for all of our process and specifically working with data around materials, customers and vendors. This is a chance for a highly motivated individual to help build and form the MDG organization within Hunter Douglas and grow with it while making business connections through the entire organization.  This role is important to the success of Hunter Douglas because you will be working with data which effects how we build, order and sell our products.

 

About You

You enjoy working with data and finding ways to present data in an easy to understand format. You excel at solving problems and love finding ways that data can provide insights. You have an ability to work autonomously, you have great communication skills, are driven to learn, and are adaptable! SAP experience is a plus but experience with other ERP systems can be valuable. Ultimately the right person for this job, loves data, understands how data can help improve processes and is excited about leveraging data to drive improvements.

Acceptable Training and Experience:

  • BS or BA in business, supply chain, engineering, IT, or the equivalent and/or strong technical competencies and related work experience, including data analysis and process improvement. 
  • A minimum of three years of related experience desired. 
  • An ongoing interest in ERP and automated business process technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills are essential to the position. 

The Job

  • Partners with master data owners across different functional groups and locations to identify and develop data quality audits/reports to ensure quality master data is enabling effective business processes.
  • Builds data quality metrics and reporting capabilities to effectively measure the health of SAP data and uncover process improvement opportunities.
  • Analyzes key master data elements from different sources and reports data quality results for each source.
  • Generate monthly Data Quality reporting packages for leadership’s Operational Data Reviews.
  • Provide functional expertise to support future master data ETL projects.
  • Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct data profiling and track metrics.
  • Participate in technical design sessions, working with technical resources to provide insight during solution development.
  • Run Clean-ups – Identify efforts needed and augment organizational staff to clean-up urgent data issues to make critical data trustable.
  • Provide data entry support to Master Data Governance staff with master data create and change requests received from internal customers.
  • Partner with data stewards to ensure that the master data quality rules align with the governance processes of the organization.

Qualifications:

Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel skillset. 

Ability and experience with data analysis and reporting.

Ability to influence cross-functional teams and within all levels of the organization.

Solid knowledge in data analysis, data quality, data integration, data standardization, consolidation, matching, and other similar activities

Strong knowledge to understand of Bills of Materials (BOM) construction and maintenance, Material master creation, Purchase Information Record / Source List Maintenance, Mass updates, SOP development.

Solid knowledge of the impact of Business Partner and/or Material Master across the organization, including the following process areas: Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Plan-to-Produce, Engineering, MDM, Product Configuration.

Strong knowledge in data cleansing implementation experience.

Strong knowledge and experience developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures and implementing practical business solutions.

Ability to be a team player with good verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate clearly, work independently, and take direct requests from business and IT colleagues.

Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills required, has excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Ability to effectively communicate information to internal customers and to all levels within the organization.

Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments concurrently while maintaining high levels of quality and effectiveness

Basic knowledge in SAP in one or more process streams / disciplines (Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Plan-to-Produce, MDM, VC) 

Basic knowledge in SAP master data or SAP Information Steward audit design, implementation, and reporting experience is a plus!
