Manage the full scope of responsibility for the training of production associates by defining the training strategy and objectives, evaluating existing resources and identifying gaps, creating course development materials, scheduling and implementing the training programs and managing ongoing audits and reporting.  You will interact with cross-functional teams including production/fabrication, warehousing, engineering and human resources. Your goal is to develop high performing, engaged and commitment teams to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of customers, the organization or the industry.

Routine responsibilities will require you to:

  • Work with organizational leaders to identify and assess training needs to build a manufacturing training strategy in line with business goals
  • Design and deliver training that enhances the skills and success of production associates; conduct ongoing training needs assessment
  • Develop, implement and monitor new hire onboarding, cross training and Train the Trainer programs
  • Routinely review existing training materials to determine appropriateness, accuracy and relevance; suggest enhancements and modifications
  • Update, disseminate and maintain accurate training documents, job aids, work process, videos and online training resources.
  • Schedule training sessions and organize the resources (information technology, equipment, instructors, training room, training materials) required to deliver training; manage course enrollment and completion
  • Develop and maintain systems to document employee training records (i.e., scheduled training, completed training); develop and maintain training calendar; perform training administrative tasks in a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Monitor and assess training program effectiveness; identify and implement systemic improvements
  • Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training as well as training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party training providers to develop or facilitate training as needed
  • Evaluate trainings effectiveness and measure progress of training participants
  • Partner with community technical colleges to leverage additional training resources
