Humble Bundle sells games, ebooks, software, and other digital content. Our mission is to support charity while providing awesome content to customers at great prices. We launched in 2010 with a single two-week Humble Indie Bundle, but we have humbly grown into a store full of games and bundles, a subscription service, a game publisher, and more. We have raised $195 million for charity and counting.

Position Intro:

Humble Bundle is hiring a full-stack Staff Software Engineer. In this position, you will be a key contributor to technology at Humble. Your focus could range between a number of projects including our e-commerce website, Electron-based desktop app, and the platform that supports them. You will have a significant impact on the company by leading development of critical initiatives.

Technical leadership of sub-teams


  • Develop technical solutions that meet our business objectives.
  • Lead small teams of engineers to success on key projects. 
  • Estimate development time for a range of project sizes.
  • Collaborate with and mentor your team members, including code review.
  • Leverage our team development processes towards good outcomes.
  • “Ops” work - help maintain the health of our production environment and resolve emergencies.
  • Provide good architectural direction for the team’s projects.
  • Bring a mature approach to testing.

Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in a team environment.
  • Significant amount of professional experience in full stack web development specifically.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient with Python language.
  • Working knowledge of common web technologies.
  • Experience with cloud-native development.
  • Experience with NoSQL and relational data stores.
  • Have led small teams of engineers to successful completion of projects.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working on e-commerce products.
  • Experience with Electron.js and/or developing for desktop environments.
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, especially AppEngine.
