The Opportunity

You will be joining a global team of passionate Career Development Advisors who excel at coaching students to secure jobs around the world. Hult Career Advisors focus on strategic job search approaches, personal branding, and networking to maximize post-graduation success. In addition to these traditional career topics, a successful advisor will also be able to creatively approach engagement with a Gen Z demographic and empower students to compete in a competitive marketplace by providing guidance in navigating AI tools.
 
You will be working with master’s-level students to kickstart their early careers journeys in the Bay Area and greater region, utilizing your knowledge of employment trends, recruitment best practices, and understanding of the local work culture. You will draw on your excellent communication and job search strategy skills to deliver workshops, one-to-one advising sessions, and spotlight the value of Hult Students to employers in the local job market.
 
This role will be based at our San Francisco campus. As a campus-focused role, advisors are required to be on campus to deliver the best support for our student community.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Under the direction of the Campus Head of Career Development and Employer Relations, organize and execute interactive career workshops covering all career and job search fundamentals – career assessment, personal branding, resume writing, proactive job searches, interviewing techniques, mock interviews, salary negotiations, etc. 
     
  • Manage a set group of students on their journey to successful employment. This includes delivering in-person career workshops, facilitating small group sessions, and coaching students 1:1.
     
  • Guide students in utilizing AI tools to develop professional, industry-specific LinkedIn profiles, resumes, and cover letters. 
     
  • Coach students in developing their existing networks and building new relationships to foster professional connections, gain industry insight, and access to job opportunities. 
     
  • Utilize platforms such as Handshake, Salesforce, and Canvas to manage the student career journey, including keeping advising notes on 1:1 sessions. 
     
  • Build a rapport with your students to facilitate the collection of annual employment data, documenting their successes for rankings and ensuring compliance with MBA CSEA reporting standards. 
     
  • Manage the review and approval process for summer and fall internships. 
     
  • In partnership with the Career Development & Employer Relations team, curate and facilitate connections between students and the larger Hult community - alumni, faculty, staff, local employers, clubs, associations, and mentors. 
     
  • Support various departments including enrolment, academics, and marketing to grow and elevate the Hult brand to prospective students, alumni, and employers.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Business Administration, or related field.  
     
  • 5 years’ professional experience required, preference to candidates with experience in career advising or recruitment. Deep knowledge and network in one or more functional areas or industry sectors is highly valued. 
     
  • Previous career advisory experience and knowledge of student development and career counselling practices, including assessment tools, networking best practices, job search execution, and negotiation approaches. 
     
  • Experience working with Handshake or other career development or hiring platforms. Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and database management systems (especially Salesforce).  
     
  • Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings, ability to effectively and enthusiastically present to and interact with students in one-on-one, large classroom presentations, and workshop formats. 
     
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across diverse cultures.  
     
  • A nothing is impossible mindset and desire to be part of a high growth, entrepreneurial business school.

  • The salary for this position is $40K.
