At Hudson Pacific Properties, we provide best-in-class office space to the biggest names in tech and media (Netflix & Amazon), and we're seeking a Project Accountant for our Corporate office in Los Angeles, CA. The position plays a crucial role in the financial management of construction projects, overseeing the tracking of job costs, analyzing variances, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of construction invoices. The role also includes managing fixed assets, from recording additions and depreciation to handling disposals, to ensure comprehensive and precise financial reporting.
 
 
What You'll Do:
  • Review and validate construction invoices against contracts and change orders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all required documents are received on time and are properly recorded.
  • Perform detailed job cost reconciliations to maintain accurate project balances.
  • Track and review ongoing and completed projects on a monthly basis.
  • Manage quarterly accruals for capital projects and ensure they are accurately reflected in the financial records.
  • Enter tenant improvement overages into the tenant ledger, ensuring all charges are accounted for.
  • Prepare and review monthly cash flow reports to ensure accuracy and provide insights into financial health.
  • Reclassify general ledger expenses as necessary to ensure proper assignment to the correct budgets and projects.
  • Record monthly additions to the fixed assets module related to completed projects, leasing commissions, and new acquisitions.
  • Reconcile the fixed assets module with the general ledger monthly to ensure consistency.
  • Manage disposals, derecognition of fully depreciated assets, and other asset-related adjustments.
  • Prepare and file annual personal property tax returns.
  • Develop and maintain audit schedules related to fixed assets, and provide assistance during audits.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses related to fixed assets and other special projects as requested by management.

What You'll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in real estate accounting required.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with superb attention to detail and strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills and demonstrated working knowledge of computers and software including high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with programs such as Yardi is a plus.
Salary Range: $31.73 - $37.50 Hourly USD (subject to relevant experience).
