Job Overview
The Mobile Foreman is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our Mobile Mechanic team, ensuring high-quality repairs are completed, safety standards are maintained, and workflow is optimized within the Mobile team. The Mobile Foreman has working knowledge of the tools and equipment used to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment. This position will involve traveling locally to customer facilities for service and maintenance work on trailers. Position may require periodic after-hours/on-call work.
Core Functions
- Repair Job Oversight
- Ensure the team understands repair orders prior to starting the repair, then sign-off on repair orders when ready to start.
- Mentor, assist, and troubleshoot with the team to ensure the job is completed according to the repair order.
- Ensure the team has the parts required to complete the repair. Collaborate with the parts team as necessary.
- Provide recommended repair modifications for the repair order to management.
- Keep the repair order updated in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system throughout the life cycle of the job.
- Conduct random quality inspections at technician job sites to ensure repairs are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with company quality standards.
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed by the team.
- Ensure documentation and paperwork on repairs are maintained appropriately.
- Monitor resource utilization for each repair and recommend corrective action to management prior to completion.
- Validate materials and hours for each repair job, ensuring accuracy of the documented work order.
- Follow-up with customers on any changes to the original repair quote.
- Escalate discrepancies on quoted repair orders to management.
- Prioritize Safety:
- Create a culture of safety within the team and serve as a role model for safety best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials handling and safety standards.
- Safely operate various pieces of equipment, such as electric pallet jack, wave (man lift), Taylor Dunn (stock chaser) and Forklift.
- Successfully complete the Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training.
- Successfully complete the Hazardous Materials training.
- Comply with all other company safety policies and procedures.
- Utilize proper loading techniques.
- Team Management and Development
- Supports the team by solving common problems and making routine decisions that impact them.
- Responsible for reinforcing timekeeping requirements with employees.
- Contributes to the development of reliable processes and procedures and supports the team to execute.

Competencies and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in equipment/trailer/automotive repair preferred.
- Completion of a vocational or other post-secondary training program preferred.
- Trailer body and/or welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Previous supervisor experience preferred.
- Ability to learn product knowledge quickly and apply it to customer interactions.
- Familiarity with heavy duty truck systems, diesel engines, trailers and common industry brands.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale or inventory management systems, such as Karmak or similar.
- Basic computer skills (email, desktop navigation, etc.).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and customer-focused approach.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. Infrequently.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 60% of the time.
