Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Diesel Technician Foreman to lead our team of technicians in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and related systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring high-quality service and safety standards.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the diesel technician team, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
- Provide hands-on support for complex repairs and maintenance of diesel engines, transmissions, and related systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with company policies and industry regulations, prioritizing safety at all times.
- Train and mentor technicians, providing guidance on best practices and technical skills development.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours for reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with management to establish priorities and schedules for maintenance and repair work.
- Assist in managing inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels for operations.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology preferred.
- Proven experience as a diesel technician, with at least [X years] in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Valid [specific certifications, e.g., CDL, ASE certification] is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
Warehouse/Shop Environment
- Must be able to lift/carry 25 lbs frequently.
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to lift/carry 100+ lbs infrequently.
- Prolonged periods of walking and standing.
