Job Overview 
The Receiving Coordinator is responsible for receiving and inspecting incoming goods, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies, and organizing the inventory for easy access and distribution with minimal oversight. This role primarily receives and maintains daily volume for individual parcels, less-than-truck-loads (LTL) and full-truck-loads (FTL). This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively and efficiently to ensure the smooth flow of materials into the warehouse. 
 
Core Functions 
  • Receiving & Inventory Processing: Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips, ensuring accuracy when posting items in the system. Label, store, and organize products in primary locations for picking, while staging overstock appropriately. Unload inbound shipments and transfer trailers safely and efficiently, and develop a working knowledge of bills of lading (BOLs).
  • Systems, Coordination & Performance: Perform key tasks within the ERP system and continue building proficiency in more advanced functions. Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams such as inventory control, purchasing, and warehouse operations to resolve discrepancies and maintain proper stock levels. Meet established performance metrics related to accuracy, volume, and efficiency.
  • Quality Control & Documentation: Inspect incoming goods for damage, quantity, and accuracy, and communicate any issues to management. Maintain detailed and accurate records of shipments, including quantities and descriptions, within the document management system.
  • Team Support & Work Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace within the warehouse. Support operational projects, assist in training other associates, and provide guidance to team members while communicating effectively across teams. Adhere to company policies, including attendance standards.
 
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during receiving, storage, and material handling processes. Safely operate powered industrial equipment such as pallet jacks and lifts, follow proper unloading protocols, and successfully complete required safety training, including PIT certification. 
Competencies and Qualifications 
  • High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent required.   
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a warehouse environment required.   
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift and electric pallet jack required.   
  • Comfortable working in a heavy-duty warehouse environment. 
  • Knowledge of safety standards in a warehouse environment. 
  • Ability to read and write and perform simple mathematics. 
  • Ability to use and understand a ruler and/or tape measurer. 
  • Basic computer skills such as file storage, control panel navigation, internet and email utilization.   
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Proficient organizational skills. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 
 
Physical Requirements 
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. individually and up to 100 lbs. with other associates.
