Accreditation Canada (AC) is searching for Physicians and Registered Nurses who can speak and understand Italian, German and / or Greek and who share our passion for achieving quality health services for all. Terms: Availability to participate in a minimum of 10 survey days per year (approximately 2 surveys). Additionally, some preparation and travel time may be required. Surveyors will also participate in initial training and complete ongoing learning requirements.    

Compensation: Surveyors are paid a modest honorarium and are reimbursed for travel expenses. Continuing education credits can also be earned from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), and the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL).

As peer reviewers and champions of quality and safety, your responsibilities include:    

  • Conducting on-site surveys as a member of a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Assessing the quality of programs and services against standards of excellence and identifying areas for improvement;
  • Sharing your expertise and providing guidance on best practices in the field;

You have a unique history. Does it include the abilities and experience listed below?    

  • Currently employed by an organization that is accredited by AC or actively engaged in the health care or social services field.
  • Valid professional license as a Physician or Registered Nurse in a relevant provincial college.
  • Experience in an executive or senior leadership position. 
  • Knowledge of AC’s programs and accreditation processes.
  • Experience working with others (e.g. patients, clinicians, or administrators) on governance, service design and/or quality improvement initiatives.
  • Fluency in English and have excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills and the ability to adapt your communication style to the audience.
  • Ability to analyze information and draw conclusions based on direct observation and document review.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to adapt to unexpected changes.
  • Strong technology skills, including the ability to operate a computer and use web-based software.

You’ll stand out if you...    

  • Are fluent in French, Arabic, Farsi, Slovenian, Spanish or other languages.
  • Have experience as a physician in a community hospital, rural hospital, or an academic/ teaching hospital setting (including duel or multisite facility's). 
  • Have experience in ophthalmology, long-term care, renal, cardiac, pediatrics, tertiary care, maternal and child health,  population health,  and/or northern and rural indigenous health.
