Who We Are Looking For
Health Standards Organization (HSO) and Accreditation Canada (AC) are seeking Africa-based experienced professionals, consultants, and organizations with expertise in healthcare quality, regulatory systems, accreditation, and health systems strengthening to join our team of Advisors. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about advancing and strengthening health system quality and strengthening across the continent.
We invite applicants that are interested in collaborating with HSO/AC teams and local stakeholders to co-develop and implement customized projects that reflect national priorities and global best practices to apply.
Your Impact
As an Advisor, you will:
- Collaborate with Ministries of Health, subnational health departments and regional institutions
- Support the integration of quality standards into national health reforms and service delivery
- Design and execute advisor and accreditation services tailored to local contexts
- Strengthen institutional capacity and promote sustainable quality improvement
Key Details
Location: Africa.
Travel: May be required depending on the project. Specific travel details will be shared prior to assignment acceptance.
Time Commitment: Varies by project. Details will be communicated with assignment.
Support & Compensation: Advisors receive orientation and are informed of compensation rates before accepting assignments. Travel costs are reimbursed per policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in healthcare quality, accreditation, and health systems strengthening.
- Expertise in regulatory assessments and intervention development.
- Keen interest in healthcare leadership and clinical excellence.
- Experience in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH)
- Demonstrated expertise in mental health programs and community health systems.
- Strong networks within national health systems or academic institutions.
- Familiarity with donor-funded health programs and multilateral development initiatives.
- Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and locally driven solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively across cultures and disciplines.
- Proficiency in English and French (writing and communication)
- Proficiency in technology including remote team management tools.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with a positive, adaptable attitude.
- Knowledge of Accreditation Canada programs and accreditation processes is an asset.
