Horizon Industries Limited (HIL) is a dynamic IT and Management Consulting firm based in the Washington, DC area. We are currently seeking a Database Engineer for a proposed full-time position, in the Washington, DC area.
The Database Engineer will update and maintain a national GIS directory. This directory supports a nationwide effort to map and assign street addresses to every location in the nation. The Database Engineer will be working with government counterparts and receives and transforms data-sets from around the country. These data-sets are then transformed and loaded into the national database, resulting in a map that is sent back for verification. Versions of this created database will be available to the public.
Required Skills / Experience:
- Five (5) years’ experience with using the ESRI ArcGIS Desktop application to maintain and develop geospatial databases.
- Two (2) years’ experience with using the ERSI Interoperability Extension to ArcGIS Desktop.
- Two (2) years’ experience with developing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) routines.
- One (1) year experience with using the ArcGIS Desktop application to produce maps.
This position requires obtaining and maintaining a security clearance, which requires US Citizenship or Green Card Status.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred
