Hood Industries, Inc. is a blend of wood manufacturing and distribution concerns that include plywood and lumber manufacturing plants, and twenty-three specialty wood product distribution operations, located in eighteen states serving the northeast, southeast and southwest United States.
Purpose:
Purpose:
Boiler helpers are responsible for operating a front-end loader to load fuel bins for the boilers. Helpers must also rake boilers and empty ash hoppers as well. They must feed fuel end bark chipper with front end loader.
Key Responsibilities:
• Open Boiler door in order to blow out ashes, rake boilers, and ensure general working order of boiler.
• Operate Front End loader in a safe manner. Conduct pre-operation check before operation. Operate loader in order to load fuel bins, empty ash hoppers, and feed fuel end bark chopper.
• Conduct facility maintenance of boiler control room.

Education/Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous work experience in an industrial environment.
• Industrial boiler work experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work on an 8- or 12-hour shift and be available for overtime.
• Must be able to maintain a good attendance record and able to comply with attendance policy.
• Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Must be a self-directed worker, capable of working alone or in a team environment to solve problems and implement solutions.
