Hood Industries, Inc. is a blend of forest products manufacturing and distribution concerns. This includes plywood and lumber manufacturing facilities, as well as twenty-four specialty wood product distribution centers. Our operations are located in eighteen states serving a wide variety of customers primarily located in the Northeast, southeast and Southwest United States.
Job Summary:
The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Facilitates all aspects of the recruitment process for our Plywood facilities.
• Collaborates with hiring managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
• Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
• Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
• Work with site management to assure phone screening, interviews and evaluations are tracked through Jobvite (applicant tracking system).
• Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
• Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
• Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers as needed.
• Work with site management to ensure that recruiting, interviewing and selection processes are performed consistently and with required policies and regulations.
• Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
• Facilitates and attends career fairs.
• Communicate benefit information to candidates.
• Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping employee information confidential.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
• At least 3 years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process strongly preferred.
• SHRM, PHR, or related coursework/certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
