Distributor Service, Inc. (DSI) is an industrial distributor wholesaler of decorative hardwood plywood, hardwood lumber, high pressure laminate, wood finishes and stains, solid surfaces, and other professional woodworking supplies. DSI is a distributor of these products to cabinet and furniture-makers, fabricators, architectural designers, and other professional manufacturers. DSI was recently acquired and will be transitioning into the Hood Distribution family.
Hood Distribution, a division of Hood Industries, is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber & plywood as well as related specialty products. Hood Distribution currently consists of sixteen locations within fourteen states, providing distribution into Arizona, North Texas, the eastern U.S. as well as the Caribbean markets.
DSI has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as an Architectural and Design Specifications Representative in our Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA territories. The Specifications Representative works collaboratively to secure Laminate and Solid Surfaces Formica within a defined distribution market area. As an Architectural and Design Specifications Representative, you are responsible for driving product specifications through architects, interior design forms, fabricators, and other specifiers, leading to product sales.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships within the Architecture, Design, & Construction community.
- Work with architects & designers on specifications and approval of products.
- Follow up with clients and serve as technical consultant to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Project targeting & tacking.
- Territory management.
- Networking to include actively participate in industry associations (ASID, IIDA or NEWH), and participate in industry trade shows and networking events.
Required skills/experience:
- 1-3 years experience of Product Specifications and/or working with Architects, Designers, or other related experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Independent judgement and initiative.
