Sr. Boiler Operators are responsible for maintaining and operation of wood fire boiler for plywood drying production. They handle equipment such as low-pressure boilers, high-pressure boilers, power boilers, steam boilers, and hot water heating systems. Assisting in the leading and directing of the Boiler Operators and Helpers, ensuring that the boiler is functioning properly, and that processes are running efficiently and safely. The Sr. Boiler Operator assists in troubleshooting issues, maintaining productivity standards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observes pressure, temperature, steam flows and draft meters on panel to verify specified operation of automatic combustion control systems, feed water regulators, stoker, and furnace combustion.
- Adjusts controls to set specified fuel feed, draft openings, water level, and steam pressure of boiler.
- Observes boiler and auxiliary units to detect malfunctions and can analyze and trouble shoot mechanical repairs needs.
- May test and treat boiler feed water, using specified chemicals.
- May maintain log of meter and gauge readings and record data, such as water test results and quantity of fuel consumed.
- Operate loader for wood waste storage or boiler feeding.
- Report daily production metrics, Boiler performance, and any quality or equipment issues.
- Ensuring adherence to Boiler operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating as Boiler Operator.
- Two years technical degree or equivalent work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Previous work experience in an industrial environment is a plus.
- Must be able to maintain a good attendance record and able to comply with attendance policy.
- Mechanical background is a plus.
- Must be able to work on an 8- or 12-hour shift and be available for overtime.
- Able to work rotating shift schedule.
- Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Must be a self-directed worker, capable of working alone or in a team environment to solve problems and implement solutions.
- Must be able to effectively read, comprehend, interpret, record, and apply information from documents (i.e., equipment manuals, SOP's, policies, etc.).
