Live-In Caregiver (PCA/CNA/HHA)

Location: Now Hiring Caregivers in Salt Lake County, Utah County, and Davis County
Position Functions and Responsibilities
- Honors Client Confidentiality, Rights, Privacy, and Reporting Maltreatment Expectations
- Be able to demonstrate competency in all areas of training for personal care
- Maintain a minimum of six hours of in-service per year
- Self-administration of medications by reminding the client to take medications, and opening containers for the client;
- Housekeeping
- Personal grooming and dressing
- Eating and meal preparation
- Oral hygiene and denture care
- Toileting and toilet hygiene
- Arranging for medical and dental care including transportation to and from the appointment
- taking and recording oral temperatures
- Administering emergency first aid
- Providing or arranging for social interaction
- Providing transportation
- Documenting observations and services in the individual client record.
Qualifications
- Prefer a minimum of 1 year of caregiving experience (Home Care, Assisted Living/Memory Care, Skilled Nursing/Nursing Home, Hospital, or Hospice) or be an active nursing student.
- Prefer High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Ability to pass a written and skill competency examination.
- Ability to use a smart phone or tablet
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
- Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene.
- Prefer Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with Homespire requirements and is in good working order.
