Truck and Trailer Technician Lead Hand

Oversee a group of workers assigned to them, ensuring all tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner. They are in charge of coordinating work across multiple areas and ensuring that safety protocols are followed at all times.

Inspect, diagnose, repair and service mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components of commercial equipment and transport trucks and trailers. Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs in accordance with supervisor guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing methods to determine the extent of repair. 

Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems as required meeting deadlines as scheduled.

Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications

Perform and complete maintenance & mechanical services for assigned equipment including Vehicle defect reports & scheduled maintenance

Follow Preventative Maintenance schedule and services as assigned to ensure maintenance repairs are completed and documented in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act

Follow HH communication procedures on equipment serviced for equipment work and availability and communicate equipment availability to parties directly affected by maintenance and repairs.

Perform duties and functions in the absence of the shop supervisor in a supervisory role


CVIP certified

Possess a Class G/5 license or higher

Knowledgeable with functioning computer skills considered an asset

Completion of Red Seal or combination of work experience in the trade
