This is an exciting opportunity to join our Business Solutions team and aid in the analysis and design of Home Hardware’s Head Office computer applications. In this role you’ll be applying your technical knowledge and system design skills while working with a cross-functional team. If you’re a self-starter with an eye for detail then this is the role for you.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Will be assigned analyst roles based on skills required and individual capabilities including System Requirements, Data and Process Modelling, System Design, Implementation and Test Planning.

Develop program specifications, designing screens and report layouts.

Work with Programmer Analysts as they develop applications.

Participate on project teams, developing new applications or part of a support group making enhancements or corrections to existing applications.

Plan unit testing of program modules, working with System and Regression test teams and may support User Acceptance Testing done by the Business areas.

Work with Business Analysts to translate business requirements into system requirements.

Assign tasks to other system analysts and provide leadership and mentoring.

Manage aspects of the project as a team lead.

Work with other Systems Analysts to translate system requirements into system design.

Involved in build and release planning, working closely with Project Managers

Works with Solution and Technical Architects and may perform the Architect role when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary education in programming or systems analysis. Diploma or degree preferred.

Five or more years’ experience in Systems Analyst or a related job function including Data Modelling, and a full understanding of relational Database concepts.

Full understanding of multiple SDLC’s (Waterfall, Agile Scrum, etc.)

Strong communication and people skills, with Team Lead experience

Retail Industry knowledge and Microsoft Dynamics365 would be an asset.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.

Must have initiative; be results-oriented and able to work independently and in teams.
