IT Technical Support
HOURS: 8:00 TO 4:30*
We are looking for an IT professional to join our Retail Helpline team. In this role you’ll be responsible for supporting Home Hardware stores’ daily inquiries into their IT products and equipment. If you have outstanding customer service and creative problem solving skills then this is the role for you.
Provide outstanding service, training, and support to Home Hardware stores and assist them in the effective use of Infrastructure and Security products including Inventory Management/Point of Sale systems, HomeInfo, hand held devices, and electronic communications.
Offer excellent phone and email support ensuring all customers are effectively assisted in a timely manner.
Assist Home stores with initial installation of Infrastructure and Security software and hardware products and provide support for ongoing updates to products.
Research and document store suggestions for enhancements in Infrastructure and Security Applications software products.
Assist Home stores in maintaining computer hardware and operating systems supporting our products.
Provide 1st and 2nd level after-hours support for Home stores and staff using Infrastructure and Security products.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
University or College degree/diploma in information technology or computer-related field or equivalent help desk/service desk experience supporting computer systems.
Retail and customer service experience, knowledge of Home Hardware systems, and familiarity with Windows, SUSE Linux operating systems.
Strong service orientation, ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent communication and coaching skills, as well as a desire to learn are definite assets.
Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment and prioritize work. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
Accounting and Technical knowledge an asset.
Fluency in oral and written French an asset.
*May be required to work irregular hours to install applications and to provide off-hours support.
