Join our Home Hardware Team as a Retail Operations Manager at our Head Office in St Jacobs, Ontario. The Retail Operations Manager will be responsible for the coordination, delivery and execution of key operational and strategic initiatives.

We are looking for an organized and collaborative self-starter, to provide strong leadership, support and direction to the field team, to strengthen capabilities and elevate outcomes. You will be responsible for developing tactical execution plans to support projects, manage project deadlines and communicate regular status updates to senior leadership.


Facilitate field team communications by creating and upkeeping field team operational playbooks, monthly operational webinars and weekly field operational updates. Coordinate and facilitate monthly field training and develop sessions to support corporate objectives and goals to improve Store Owner sales and profitability.

Manage and monitor the Retail Operations budget, exercising sound fiscal management to control expenses and generate revenue.

Collaborate with a variety of cross functional departments within the Operations Team such as Communications & eCommerce, Retail Education & Training, Dealer Development, and Store Design.

Be the subject matter expert regarding operational practices to be implemented in Home Hardware stores.

Additional projects as requested by the Vice-President, Retail Operations. 


College/University diploma or degree in business or marketing.   

Three to five years of practical experience directly managing store operations for a major retail organization, with a minimum of five years of operations experience.

A thorough understanding of retail operations and the retail store environment.

Ability to manage, lead and coach a team to ensure success in delivery and execution.

Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.  Comfort with public speaking with various stakeholders as the subject matter expert regarding retail and store operations. 

Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop a project plan or execute a predetermined plan.

Ability to travel and work additional or varied hours as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Fluency in both English and French would be an asset.
