We are looking for a Facility and Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our Distribution team on night shift. Reporting to the Supervisor, Facilities and Maintenance, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and providing preventative maintenance programs for various systems and equipment including, fire safety, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, low voltage, plumbing and building envelope.

*Please note this is a 12-month term role.
 
*Night Shift: Sunday Night to Friday Morning, 11:00pm to 7:00am.
 
What you’ll do:

  • Diagnose problems, repair, and maintain building equipment including docks, racking, HVAC, fire systems, boilers, fans and fume hood pump trucks, and hand carts.
  • Maintain and provide minor repairs on plumbing and fixtures, doors and windows, walls, roofing, flooring, and painting.
  • Support the operation of electrical systems and fabrication of miscellaneous items.
  • Operate outside gas powered equipment to support snow and grounds maintenance.
  • Administration duties for files, spare parts, preventative maintenance standard operating procedures and programs.
  • Perform minor rough carpentry.
  • Assist Team Members with other jobs including conveyor maintenance and repair set up for events.
What we’re looking for:
  • Apprenticeship or Certificate of Qualification in Facilities 255W or 255B.
  • One year experience in providing troubleshooting and preventative maintenance in an industrial setting.
  • Experience with welding and fabrication, using band saws, welding equipment, drill press, and grinders.
  • Working experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems repairs.
  • Familiarity with rough carpentry.
  • Strong ability to interpret schematics and manuals for proper maintenance.
  • Previous experience working at heights on mezzanines and aerial work platforms.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to manage specialized trades for equipment repair and maintenance.
