Director of Video Services
Description
The Director of Video Services will support Holy Cross Athletics to engage fans through delivering robust content and programing, creative and engaging video content for the Patriot League on ESPN, FloSports, NESN , Spectrum, and GoHolyCross.com.. This person will also work Assistant Director of Athletics Brand Enhancement/Marketing to support broadcasts and provide original content to enhance the Holy Cross brand as well as tell the story of Holy Cross Athletics. This position will also support revenue generation, branding, and fan engagement to promote the mission and goals of the athletics department.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Use video in traditional mediums such as television and large scale in-venue display systems, and “New Media” such as websites and web-based applications to include the Departments various new and social media initiatives.
- Serve as the executive producer for live-streaming content on ESPN+, Flohockey, NESN, Spectrum and other networks in partnership with Holy Cross Athletics.
- Conceptualize, create, and design video productions and graphics, including editing video, setting up/tearing down video productions, and shooting marketing promotional pieces and interviews.
- Organize and evaluate the content for assigned sports news stories; determine the agendas and flow of assigned sports news stories.
- Coordinate game format in conjunction with networks and department to include commercial timing, pre-production, interviews and sponsor elements.
- Responsible for creative strategy on production projects, including interfacing with internal teams to ensure the content produced is representative of the Holy Cross Athletics brand and message.
- Manage content production projects from concept through completion: producing, budgeting, production team management, post-production supervision, and distribution.
- Interface with the Patriot League and CBS Sports Network for coordination and delivery of content to Patriotleague.com and GoHolyCross.com.
- Develop, implement and manage the programming schedule for broadcasts including but not limited to: Live Events, Original Programming, Specials, and Commercials.
- Maintain all broadcast equipment, and make equipment recommendations as needed for equipment upkeep
- Conceptualize, execute, and edit all production needs and content development for Athletics External Operations including Marketing, In-Venue, Strategic Communications, and Social & Digital Marketing.
- Innovates short-form and long-form video content, ranging in style from podacts to interviews and broadcast style content.
- Supervises Associate Director of Video and In-Venue Production
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s required; 2-3 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Considerable experience utilizing Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects or equivalent
- programs desired.
- Extensive knowledge of the digital media landscape (both technical and creative) and experience working on live broadcasts, studio productions, sports documentary format and in-game entertainment.
- Ability to take complex ideas and present them in a manner that is easy to consume and share.
- Experience managing a small team and working cross-functionally to achieve department goals.
- Strong technical skills, and ability to leverage emerging media.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively with tight deadlines.
- Strong quantitative analytical ability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working on live content, ideally both as a hands-on producer and as an executive producer
- Understanding of audio/video technology and various pieces of broadcast equipment such as clip servers, replay equipment, tape decks, etc. Strong knowledge of broadcast operations.
- Extensive production experience: logistics, budgeting, field work, writing, audio & video editing and storytelling.
- Passion for emerging media trends and technology.
- Ability to work regular and extensive hours required.
- Experience operating and maintaining broadcast equipment including, but not limited to Tricaster, replay system, LiveText, AJT, camera operation, etc.
