JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Supervisor is a working supervisor responsible for overseeing the operations of our Crusader Catering in Kimball and concessions locations. Responsibilities include assisting in schedules, managing Catering and concessions staff including bartenders for concession events, and following the direction of the Assistant Director of Retail and Concessions on event logistics and standards of services. This position is responsible for overseeing the service of alcohol on-campus events and ensuring that City and College alcohol policy on all concession events is enforced.
Supervises the day-to-day business, assisting with the training of non-exempt staff in all aspects of food production, and special dietary requests ensuring consistency of food quality, food presentation, quality customer services, sanitation, and other duties as assigned. Other responsibilities include the service of alcohol, product ordering, and maintaining accurate food production/inventory control systems. Must follow and oversee that all recipes, production, and service records are in compliance with standardized sanitation, allergy and safety practices. Additional responsibilities include reporting issues, purchasing, product stocking, dating and rotation, staffing, register and credit card handling procedures and reports. Make sure the online ordering system is up to date and working properly. Ensure menu and customer information signage is displayed. Assisting with the execution of catered and special events as needed. Works closely with the Associate Director of Culinary Development & Nutrition on new menus and recipes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in volume retail and concession operations preferred. Demonstrates professional supervisory, customer service and communications skills. Certification in ServSafe (food safety/sanitation), TIPS (Alcohol Intervention Methods) and Food Allergy Awareness training required. Technical knowledge and experience in FoodPro or related systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel necessary. Needs to be open minded, approachable, professional, hands on, creative, flexible and lead by example. Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance. Flexibility in schedule for special events and athletic games.
DAYS & HOURS:
Holy Cross Dining staff are considered Emergency Essential Personnel and are required to report during times of inclement weather. Due to the needs of the Hospitality department and the academic calendar, schedules may change. Must be flexible with shifts due to events.
