What We Need: 
We are looking for individuals to join our Manufacturing Engineering Program in Muscatine, IA! New hires will start in January 2025 or June 2025.  
 
Our Early Career Development Program (ECDP) is a one-year rotational program within Allsteel and The HON Company providing participants a series of cross functional opportunities in multiple areas of our business including manufacturing, product development, quality, supply chain and front-line leadership.  Participants of the ECDP work closely with multiple functions to gain a holistic view of our business and culture. 
 
Members of the ECDP join an organization with a vision and passion for implementing solutions and exceeding our customers’ expectations.  Participating in the ECDP affords individuals early in their career the opportunity to build solid, hands-on foundational skills within a lean manufacturing organization.  Members participating in the program are given mentoring and guidance providing them with continuous feedback and robust learning opportunities.

Once you’ve completed the rotational development program, you’ll be prepared for a role likely within one of the rotational functions. Where you will begin will be in part based on your talents and strengths, your interests, and available roles upon program completion.
 What you will do
  • Provide leadership to department members to achieve daily customer satisfaction by delivering to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture goals.
  • Coordinate with support groups on all aspects of capacity including the flow of materials, layout of work area, and operational readiness of equipment/processes.
  • Participates in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives by participating in and allowing direct reports to participate on Rapid Continuous Improvement Events, project teams, focus groups, and other forms of assignments designed to engage members and grow their talent within the organization.

What You Have: 
  • Prospective candidates are required to hold a Four-year degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Organizational/Business Management or applicable discipline, is preferred. 
  • Previous (related) experience working in lean manufacturing is strongly preferred/desired.
  • Minimum 2.8 GPA 
  • High academic achievement in their education pursuits
