What We Need:
We are looking for a Group Leader to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings - Operations team.
- Define major performance objectives/goals and supporting actions/tasks for each objective:
- Lead efficient daily operations through steadfast focus on Quality, Delivery, Cost, Safety.
- Drive Tier board documentation and action item completion.
- Support a proactive approach to improve the overall quality and execute PPM and audit goals.
- Reduce downtime to reach COT goals.
- Maintain and execute a staffing plan that improves labor cost by reduction in overtime and supports production goals through timely job requisition submissions, comprehensive interview and selection processes, and member cross training.
- Monitor and Improve JSA, JBS, and overall training/retention. Ensure training timelines are achieved regarding production
- Relentlessly pursue lean principles
- Utilize lean tools like 5-why, fishbone diagrams, and corrective actions to problem solve
- Strive for 5S compliance across all departments
- Consistent Flawless Execution
- Maintain high visibility & presence on the shop floor
- Develop and use leader standard work for daily activities
- Drive cross training opportunities to ensure acceptable levels are maintained for each job
- Plan and contribute to RCI events; encourage your team members to participate
- Drive 2025 strategic initiatives around improved labor efficiency
- Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain group lead standard work that involves review of key processes such as JSA accuracy and completion, 5S audits, standard work, member training, layered process audits, and Safety Touch Points.
- Participate and lead Tier discussions for assigned area(s) Align workforce to operational metrics Tier/PCBs: Production Control Boards/Daily Goals)
- Enhance culture of change through driving Tier escalations amongst members
- Coach and develop members to advance within the organization.
- Team Structure:
- This position reports to the Factory Manager.
- This position has 21 direct reports
- This person will interact with most cross functional groups
