The Sales Development Manager (SDM) is responsible for driving sales growth, developing high-caliber talent, and advancing the success of the HON Brand within assigned markets. This role will be to manage, coach, and mentor a team of Sales Development Associates to achieve sales targets and expand the company's market presence. The SDM will oversee the execution of sales strategies, ensure effective implementation of training programs, and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
 
Some of the essential aspects of the position include: 
  • Lead and develop a team of Sales Development Associates, providing regular coaching and performance feedback to build a high-performing team aligned with HON’s strategic goals.  
  • Activate a growth strategy through the assigned team to achieve revenue and profitability goals.  
  • Set, monitor, and evaluate team goals, ensuring Sales Development Associates meet key performance indicators and achieve sales targets.  
  • Oversee the initial and ongoing training for Sales Development Associates, enhancing their proficiency in HON products, programs, and sales techniques, and building a pipeline of future sales leaders.  
  • Collaborate with leadership and subject matter experts to support sales growth, ensuring alignment in messaging and market positioning.  
  • Facilitate access to resources, removing selling barriers, and managing tools such as Salesforce for tracking team activities and performance.  
  • Gather, analyze, and disseminate competitive and market insights, providing recommendations to enhance HON’s market position.  
  • Guide the team in effective customer engagement through remote channels and in-market visits, building strong relationships with key accounts and partners.  
  • Participate in recruitment and hiring efforts to attract and build a pipeline of highly talented Sales Development Associates.  
  • Supervise, coordinate, provide leadership and review work of assigned members. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend merit increases, promotions, transfers, corrective actions, and other personnel actions.  Interview and recommend candidates for employment.  Drive member engagement.  
  • Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.  
 
What it takes: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required., 
  • At least 3 years of previous sales and/or sales management experience, preferably in commercial furnishings, is required; 5 years of experience is preferred.
