POSITION HIRING FOR: LEVEL 3 ADVANCED MACHINE OPERATOR: WORKING TITLE, IF APPLICABLE

JOB DETAILS

In an Advanced Machine Operator role, you will primarily set up and operate various types of machines to product quality parts/pieces for manufacturing use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operating computer controlled machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators. This includes the setup, adjustment and troubleshooting of computer programs.
  • Set up, adjust and operates in accordance with drawings, blueprints and templates, a wide variety of two axis numerically computer controlled machinery within the plant
  • Works from program operational data and set-up instructions defining and coding tools, fixtures, machine calibrations and console settings.
  • Will changeover all bits and pods for the machine. Will inspect parts for proper conformity and make adjustments to all non-standard and variable settings, strokes and stops to ensure close tolerances and consistently high quality. 
  • Read and follow schedules while following standard work processes and adhering to all quality standards and safety rules.
  • Maintain a work pace that supports production goals.
  • Member will be expected to maintain flexibility and will occasionally perform other roles in Level 3, Level 2 and Level 1.
  • Perform basic quality checks according to standard work.
  • Maintain clean work station and follow 6S guidelines of the department.
  • Member may be required to train others in Level 3, Level 2, and/or Level 1 roles per the Member Training Program
  • Will work under minimal supervision and at times minimal direction.
  • Must become a product expert and maintain a high level of craftsmanship.
  • At times, may be required to operate a forklift to move material
  • Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.

Work Environment/ Physical Conditions:

  • Dust, fumes and noise are commonplace
  • Seasonal fluctuations in temperatures and humidity are expected
  • Stand and/or work for up to 10-hours per day
  • Lift and carry up to 40lbs on a continuous basis

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Problem solving skills that deal with a variety of variables related to machine operation set up and proper machine cycles.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute to standard work
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently as needed
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, while maintaining a positive attitude and approach
  • Ability to perform high volume repetitive type work
  • Reading and interpreting basic production schedules/logs, blue prints and schematics
  • Ability to take direction, as well as, direct or delegate to others

Experience Needed:

  • HNI experience, skilled technical or manufacturing experience is required.
  • Consistent work history and dependability
  • Proven history of strong work performance
  • Knowledge of CNC programming preferred, but not required.

Education and/or Required Training:

  • No prior education or training is required.
