Global Fellow – Public Affairs

Hill+Knowlton Strategies is seeking a Global Fellow to join our Public Affairs team based out of our Washington, DC office. This is an opportunity to grow as a communications professional, within a global network of energized public affairs experts.

In this role, the individual will work directly with the global chair of our public affairs group, as well as coordinate with regional public affairs leadership across all of our markets. The right candidate will work with a wide array of client issues and opportunities. No two days will be the same. One day you may work with a healthcare client dealing with gene therapy, and the next you may work on international trade issues in agriculture. Round off the week by monitoring policy initiatives relating to the tech industry. Regardless of the location – Sacramento, D.C., or Brussels –, we provide counsel, support, and expertise to help our clients effectively navigate a myriad of situations as they evolve.

As a Global Fellow with Hill+Knowlton Strategies, you will:

  • Conduct in-depth research and compile detailed informational briefs covering a wide array of issues
  • Provide support in the creation of presentation deliverables to C-suite executives
  • Create media monitoring reports and compile media analysis around client issues
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members across the public affairs network
  • Assist in the coordination of events such as press conferences, media briefings, analyst meetings, media tours, and trade shows
  • Learn through a rich curriculum of professional development and training opportunities
  • Collaborate with other fellows across the US and global network, building relationships and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute your unique ideas and personality to the vibrant H+K company culture

  • Undergraduate degree in Foreign Service, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, International Relations or related; master’s degree in foreign service/Affairs/Policy strongly preferred
  • Previous Public Affairs related internship or experience a plus
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Hyper-organized team player with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, creative, and fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office – particularly with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • The desire for a career in Government Relations, Foreign Policy, or Public Affairs
  • Passion, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the H+K brand

We require immediate, part-time availability throughout the program (minimum 15 hours per week, 20 hours preferred) for 6 months.

The compensation for this position at the time of this posting is $25/hour. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, and experience.
