Financial Analyst

Businesses depend upon financial analysts for their expertise and guidance on investments, borrowing and other financial decisions. These professionals provide financial analysis and accounting support, and assist management teams by developing performance reports and metrics for use in long-term, annual and quarterly planning.
Employers that hire financial analysts include private and public companies, defense contractors, healthcare providers and government agencies, among others.
To make solid financial decisions, business owners and management teams need accurate information on their present financial situation, as well as projections of future cash flows, economic and industry trends, and customer demand. Financial analysts provide this information by gathering and analyzing data. They also develop and implement analysis projects, whether the objective is to manage banking relationships, invest or borrow funds, or launch a new product or service.
Other financial analyst duties include compiling data for annual reports, budgets and cash flow reports, assessing operational performance and setting investment priorities. They also develop detailed analyses to support investment decisions, with forecasts of return on current and proposed options. In addition, they make recommendations to improve financial operations.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent; finance or business preferred
• At least 1 year of experience in a financial analyst role, or 2 years of related experience with solid finance and accounting background
• Strong work ethic and positive team-first attitude: Humility and humor make for a high-impact contributor
• Act independently and exercise independent judgment and discretion within generally defined practices and policies to carry out responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with changing priorities • Ability to work with large amounts of data and organize in a logical and efficient manner
• Superior Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills; experience with Netsuite and Salesforce is a plus
