Job Summary

The Manager, Digital and Creative is responsible for the development of the strategy, implementation and management of digital and creative communications activities for the Foundation to support and advance its mission, brand and program priorities. The person in this role oversees the production of the Foundation’s digital and creative content, including print and web collateral, digital assets, social media messages and graphics, video, and digital technology for internal and external audiences.

This individual collaborates across the Foundation’s teams and departments to identify and execute against key moments where digital and creative content will advance program, advocacy, partnerships, and communications goals for both internal and external audiences. This role reports to the Director of Communications.


Strategy Development and Implementation

  • Develops and maintains a digital and creative strategy to strengthen, protect and broaden the Foundation’s brand
  • Builds upon existing strategies to further expand awareness, reach, and the effectiveness of the Foundation’s communications efforts across all digital channels through targeted analytics and measurement
  • Works closely with the Programs and Prize teams to develop strategies and implement digital and creative projects to achieve their strategic programmatic goals.
  • Oversees digital and creative initiatives and consultants in partnership with the Programs teams to realize their goals and objectives
  • Works closely with the Senior Communications Manager to support and advance key digital and creative initiatives and opportunities. Identifies digital and creative opportunities to strengthen the Foundation’s advocacy, partnerships, and voice to achieve specific outcomes and impact
  • Expands the online reach of and engagement with the Foundation’s brand by targeted audiences across multiple platforms in support of its strategic goals
  • Develops strategies for digital assets to reach and influence target audiences, while meeting the needs of our teams and our partners. Engages key stakeholders to launch digital platforms and build content for Program partners and Prize laureates
  • Collaborates with the Senior Manager, Internal Communications to develop best practices, strategies, and policies for internal communications.
  • Works closely with the Senior Communications Manager and Director, Communications to oversee the roll-out of a new Foundation website in 2023

Digital Content Management, Production and Brand Creative

  • Provide creative direction and produce digital and print content in collaboration with the Program and Prize teams to support their objectives
  • Develops content (e.g., collateral, videos, photography and graphics) to promote and support Program and Prize team initiatives as well as the Foundation’s institutional message in the U.S and globally
  • Manage Foundation’s social media presence across multiple platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube accounts
  • Develop and manage an online content calendar in coordination with Program, Prize, Partnerships and Communications staff
  • Manages and monitors integrated email marketing campaigns
  • Manage digital advertisement, paid social and search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns
  • Works with and manages external consultant partners on digital and creative projects as needed
  • Establishes brand cohesion and monitor the Foundation’s brand across all communications
  • Determines branding standards and needs to maintain quality and integrity of design and execution
  • Oversees all digital and creative work to maintain quality and integrity of design and execution

Digital Technology and Metrics

  • Partners with a cross-functional team to advise, explore and evaluate digital technology solutions and develop best practices and policies for internal and external communications needs including, but not limited to, web technologies, event management, CRM (Salesforce) and the intranet
  • Collaborates with the IT team to maintain the Foundation’s CRM (Salesforce) database and the digital assets management system (DAM)
  • Leverages data and analytics to optimize ongoing campaigns, identify and measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and create analytical reports for the organization

Innovation, Representation and Communication

  • Research and implement leading-edge digital, creative and technology best practices.
  • Execute improvements with a focus on targeted audience
  • Coach and support staff and board members in their roles as online ambassadors
  • Supports with department (PAC) and organizations initiatives and priorities as needed
  • Represents the department in organization events when necessary



  • Bachelor's or associate’s degree, plus the equivalent of at least ten years of experience in communication, digital and creative-related field
  • 10+ years of substantial work experience in a communications, digital and creative related field and 3-5 years of experience in management roles
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working in and a sound understanding of a broad range of disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement and manage diverse communications strategies and activities
  • Strong creative thinking abilities and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization and develop strong professional relationships and networks externally
  • Experience managing organizational social media accounts required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and CMS platforms required. HTML a plus
  • Proficiency with a variety of email services, developing compelling email copy and creating e-newsletters a plus
  • Design and video skills also a plus


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, design, digital, public relations, or a related field
  • Interest in philanthropy and the Foundation’s mission and operations
  • Experience within the philanthropic/nonprofit sector is preferred
