This position will lead the Cause Marketing Team's fundraising efforts to build brand partnerships with corporations to help them meet their corporate social responsibility goals using cause marketing, employee engagement, and corporate philanthropy. This role oversees CRM strategy and budget, including but not limited to leading prospecting strategy, developing employee engagement and cause marketing campaigns, management of current Tier One CRM accounts, and leveraging current consultants to raise revenue and awareness. Team Annual Revenue – Up to $9M

A. Monitor, grow and adapt long-term strategic plans for Cause Marketing partnerships (20%)
  • Develop overall fundraising plans and strategies to deliver significant growth in Cause Marketing partnerships.
  • Relationships will encompass corporate philanthropic giving, cause marketing and employee engagement.
  • Conducts ongoing analysis of ways to broaden partners’ support within the integrated teams at Heifer – GPA, Foundation, Transformational Philanthropy and all internal teams.
  • On-going monitoring of best-in-class CRM and partnership practices.
  • Responsible for overall team revenue targets of up to $9M annually.
  • Manage expense and revenue budgets to meet financial targets.
B. Grow existing clients and new partnerships to increase our fundraising efforts. (35%)
  • Continuously manages prospects to develop new donor relationships. Actively manages and solicits six to seven-figure gifts for new donors and existing accounts.
  • Identify and cultivate corporate brand partners as part of an overall expansion strategy to raise awareness and funding for Heifer
  • Develop cause marketing and employee engagement plans for Brand Partners that create win-win scenarios.
  • Conduct corporate prospect research, develop materials and presentations for prospect and partner meetings
  • Research and respond to partnership inquiries in a professional and timely manner, providing briefing overviews and directing to appropriate staff or handling yourself as necessary
  • Develop and manage a series of turnkey cause marketing programs
C. Provide stellar stewardship and account management of secured partner programs. (35%)
  • Deliver excellent account management support for a broad range of Tier One CRM corporate partners, assisting with reporting, stewardship and responding to requests as needed
  • Drive value for corporate partners to increase the likelihood of long-term partnerships that grow over time.
  • Continue to create opportunities for partners to further their giving.
  • Ensure analytics and contacts are monitored in BBEC, facilitating reports as necessary
  • Oversee contract process for new corporate partners, consultants, and agency relationships
  • Review cause marketing collateral and marketing materials and provide feedback to ensure materials reflect team priorities and guidelines
  • Includes leading the strategy to digitize and fundraise through new Read to Feed platform.
D. Collaborate cross-functionally across the organization to maximize cause marketing efforts. (10%)
  • Work with internal teams to identify new opportunities and create innovation to translate customer’s needs into win-win partnerships where our mission overlaps.
  • Represents the corporate partnership function on cross-functional teams and special projects, as needed.


  1. Minimum Education of Bachelor’s Degree
  2. Eight plus years of experience in fundraising, sales, or business development experience (non-profit or for-profit).
  3. Fundraising or business development experience in a complex environment, including a track record of securing and working with new donors.
  4. Demonstrated experience meeting or exceeding annual team goals of up to $9M. Including managing a team that is securing six to seven-figure gifts.
  5. Experience building and executing national cause-marketing campaigns preferred.
  6. Experience building multi-faceted, holistic partnerships with corporate donors.
  7. Superior relationship management and donor stewardship skills.
  8. Strong negotiation skills based on a win-win philosophy, where customer’s needs overlap with the mission
  9. Proven ability to create and launch new marketing campaigns.
  10. Well-versed in general fundraising and cause marketing industry trends, best practices, and emerging strategies.
  11. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  12. Strong customer service orientation toward colleagues, network food banks, donors and vendors.
  13. Learning agility: able to continuously learn and articulate a complex, evolving body of work.
