Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer-New Product Development, to join our Fireplaces Business Unit inMt. Pleasant, IA. We are the nation’s leading manufacturer and supplier of hearth products, including a wide variety of gas, electric, wood and pellet burning fireplaces, inserts, stoves, and accessories. Headquartered in Lakeville, Minnesota, with distribution around the world, our innovative approach is supported by a business unit structure that allows us to develop and market products with a strong focus on customers’ needs.   
 
The Fireplaces Business Unit is one of our key business units within Hearth & Home Technologies, featuring leading brands such as Heat & Glo, Majestic, Heatilator, and more.  
 
This position has core hours of Monday through Thursday, 6:00AM – 4:20PM.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Partners in the execution of manufacturing readiness for new product launches, supporting the business and ensuring alignment across process, equipment, and production requirements.
  • Builds robust, scalable processes and material product costing to optimize production capability and protect margin at launch.
  • Champions ergonomic innovation within process design, reducing risk while improving operator productivity and ease of use.
  • Implements mistake-proofing and quality control strategies at the source, minimizing variation and ensuring first-pass yield success.
  • Accelerates launch performance through automation and process improvement projects, driving efficiency gains.
 
Minimum Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of related experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, primarily Excel, Project, Outlook and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

 Work Environment  
  • Primarily in a Manufacturing facility with split focus between an office environment and the production floor. 
  • Periodic work outside core business hours may be required during key business projects.
