Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team in Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Role & Responsibilities 
  • Receive and verify all inbound raw/finished product purchase orders and HHT material transfer orders (MTO’s) ensuring accurate counts & notifying and following up with appropriate departments on discrepancies
  • Prepare all paperwork for shipments (MRO, consignment, UPS, LTL, TL, production labels, pick lists, BOL, etc.)
  • Complete loaded shipments verifies back ordered product is not in stock, verifies “on hold” product has not been loaded, codes actual backordered product with a reason code, completes sales order information with carrier, PRO # and date, prints bill of lading, and files shipped product paperwork
  • Receive and process RMAs (Return Material Authorizations)
  • Answer incoming calls (driving directions, pickup times, product availability, order expedites, member sales, etc.)
  • Reconcile Negative-on-Hand report and provide root cause solutions
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by completing cycle count data/E kanban, problem solving discrepancies for resolution
  • Examine material, verify part/product numbers and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts
  • Complete scrap and SCAR sheets for discrepant material (some locations)
  • Complete adjustments for deviations
  • Adapt to and actively participates in continuous improvement driven change with a positive attitude
  • Move Quality Hold product out of MRB location and processes per hold notice (scrap, send back for rework, etc.) 
  • Contact all LTL carriers to schedule pick-ups
  • Juggles shifting priorities and unexpected “emergencies”.
  • Duties involve some confidentiality.
  • Duties involve delayed error detection with a high potential impact on the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 
 
 
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, decimals), reading and writing
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in a shipping/receiving department.
  • Ability to obtain company forklift certification
  • Experience with cycle counting, bar coding, computerized pick lists, and computerized inventory environment (multi-location, fixed location) a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; must communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to perform math proficiently and accurately
  • Good working knowledge of part numbers, part usage, and product numbers and understand application for use
  • Highly analytical and possesses an ability to use complex data as part of the decision-making process
  • Ability to multi-task; must manage multiple priorities/tasks
  • Excellent computer skills. 
  • Experience with Manage2000 a plus
  • Bronze level BPI certification
