Janitor - Randolph VT Foundry Location

9am - 5:30pm M-F

Purpose Statement

 Performs a full range of custodial functions and other duties as assigned on a daily basis.

 Essential Functions

·         Clean restrooms, break areas and cafeterias in the manufacturing plant to assure a sanitary and pleasant environment.

·         Clean front offices by emptying trash, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms and washing windows.

·         May strip and wax floors in offices, break areas, restrooms and cafeterias as necessary. 

·         Dust, vacuum, mop and straighten conference/meeting/training rooms.

·         Clean designated areas such as the lab or compressor rooms as directed by emptying trash, dusting, and mopping when necessary.

·         Clean small offices located on the manufacturing floor.

·         Provide assistance in setting up tables, chairs, etc. for plant celebrations/events as directed by Member & Community Relations staff or the Production Manager.

·         Clean all refrigerators and microwaves on an as needed basis, by removing spoiled items and ensuring that appliances are clean and in good condition.

·         Collect, sort, and identify residual waste generated at all plant shipping, production, & receiving areas for recycling purposes.

·         Identify, label, & prepare all universal/hazardous waste materials.

·         General Maintenance of grounds. 

·         Perform other duties as assigned. 

Skills and Abilities 

·         Ability to meet deadlines.

·         Ability to operate equipment including, but not limited to: forklift, floor scrubber/sweeper, compactors, etc.

·         Must be able to read and comprehend the English language for safety reasons.

·         Good communication skills.

·         Ability to interpret prints.

·         Ability to work with hand tools and power tools.

·         Excellent attention to detail.

·         Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to work with limited supervision and direction. 

Education & Experience 

·         High school diploma or GED and 0-3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
