Position Summary
The Associate General Counsel will partner with the Chief Legal Officer in managing the legal affairs of the Company.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers, vendors, partners and others to manage and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including value based risk arrangements
- Collaborate with executive and senior team members to provide advice and professional guidance on legal and regulatory risks
- Support the development of internal policies and guidelines to ensure a culture of legal and regulatory compliance
- Conduct legal research to assess federal and state regulatory requirements
- Manage various legal actions and complaints including human resource EEOC and employee matters
- Stay up to date on industry and job-related trends and best practices
- Proactively identify and resolve legal and related matters impacting the Company
- Support leadership in the development and delivery of new products, processes, and initiatives
- Work in partnership with the Compliance team to resolve complaints, compliance issues and investigations
- Other duties as assigned
- BA/BS
- JD from accredited law school
- Active license from applicable state bar
- Ten plus years healthcare and healthcare services experience
- Ten plus years legal experience and prior experience working in house
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate cross functionally
- Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex, value based contracts with payors and providers
- Professional demeanor with external and internal constituents
- Superb verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, and business instincts
- Ability to coordinate with others and operate in a matrixed environment
- Comfortable in a high growth, fast paced environment
