Position Summary 

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist administers the activities relating to the company payroll, benefits, and employee leaves. Responsible for timely and accurate payroll data to include the processing of semi-monthly payroll, benefit enrollment and changes.   

Responsibilities  

  • Responsible for running payrolls and reviewing and auditing all benefit and payroll data to ensure data is accurate for payroll processing and ensures payroll runs timely and accurately
  • Responsible for providing requested payroll and benefit reporting
  • Ensure new and changing benefit elections are submitted accurately into the system and are accurately reflected in the employee payroll deductions
  • Assist in the administration of the leave of absence process and ensures leaves and return from leaves are correctly reflected in HRIS system for payroll processing
  • Comply summaries of deduction, taxes, and reconciles the payroll system reports and ensures accuracy of payroll data and works with Finance department
  • Collect and analyze payroll and benefit data to ensure accuracy and make appropriate decisions to rectify any discrepancies
  • Facilitate payroll corrections, retro-pay, employee changes, and all other changes related to payroll
  • Assist with Benefit Open Enrollment which may include benefit presentations and system guidance for domestic and Puerto Rico benefit administration
  • Present Benefit informational material to new hire groups or groups of employees
  • Responsible for all flat file feeds for elections for Puerto Rico
  • Audit the 401k enrollment to ensure elections, changes and opt in/out are captured in payroll
  • Support Puerto Rico for any payroll concerns or statutory requirements
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving all expense reimbursement submissions and requests
  • Responsible for processing the registration of payroll tax accounts
  • Responsible for ensuring payroll system is compliant with all state paid leaves
  • Ensure employee payroll and benefit programs are compliant in payroll system with state and federal policies
  • Responsible for processing all garnishments
  • Provide all Tier 1 and 2 support to HR in box and is responsible for resolving or escalating employee’s inquires related to benefits and payroll
  • Management of the new hire, baby, sympathy, and holiday gifts
  • Assist with HR related projects and performs other duties as assigned

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • 5 years of experience in time and attendance systems, processing, and auditing of payroll 
  • 5 years of experience in reporting and data analytics in Payroll & Benefits
  • 5 years of experience in benefits and payroll administration 
  • Experience with HTML desired 
  • Experience working with Ceridian Dayforce referred and other HRIS systems
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
