Position Summary
The Member Engagement Specialist is responsible for outbound calls to potential members for demographic research, documentation, educating patients on the benefits offered, scheduling appointments, and advising potential members on the advantages of enrolling. The Member Engagement Specialist works in a patient-centered team environment under the direct supervision of an RN.

Work hours: 11:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m EST. Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  • Review Task Manager Assignment
  • Assign case files to Care Navigators
  • Outreach to members
  • Utilization of client-specific welcome script
  • Review patient records and collect data as needed
  • Input data into Electronic Health Record and/or internal care management documentation system
  • Call patients to schedule appointments and obtain demographic information
  • Transfer Callers to Care Navigator
  • Research missing demographics for the client population
  • Schedule appointments for members with Care Navigators
  • Assist with tracking and call logs
  • Comply with HIPAA privacy laws and all other federal, state, and local regulations
  • Protect and maintain the confidentiality of company and customer information, policies, and processes
  • Submit Help Desk Tickets
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or equivalent GED
  • Proficiency in medical terminology is required
  • Preferred Medical Assistant Certification
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Experience in Call Center Environment strongly preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in Outbound Customer Service preferred
  • 1-3 of experience in the clinical setting or managed care setting preferred
  • After hours and/or weekend support based on the business location
Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills to the target audience
  • Polished and professional phone etiquette as well as excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong relationship-building skills, multitasking, prioritization, and solutions-oriented
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook and Word
