Summary/Overview

The Director of Revenue Cycle oversees the processes and activities related to revenue generation and collections (incl. insurance verification, billing, and AR follow-up and cash posting). The Director of Revenue Cycle Management tracks metrics and reports that identify trends and makes recommendations for areas of improvement.

Working under the direction of the VP of Revenue Cycle to meet short- and long-term strategic goals. The Director will assist in the creation of departmental goals and strategies for clean claims and cashflow improvements. The position will be in our Sparks, Maryland corporate office.

Responsibilities

· Lead and manage the revenue cycle team, providing guidance, training and professional development.

· Reviews and monitors job performance of assigned staff.

· Utilize available reports and analysis to track AR performance against industry benchmarks, noting any adverse trends (KPI’s).

· Plans and conducts meetings with staff to ensure compliance with department workflows, policies and makes employees aware of changes in current standards.

· Responds to complaints, problems and overall needs of patients, providers or employees.

· Manages performance of direct reports including providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance reviews, identifying and addressing performance and behavioral problems of staff; counseling and disciplining, recognizing and rewarding exemplary performance, evaluating and identifying staff development needs and planning and implements training based on those needs.

· Maintains a current knowledge of and ensures compliance with all third-party payer guidelines governing professional fee billing and documentation.

· Keep the VP of Revenue Cycle informed of personnel issues, staffing issues and any other pertinent information affecting RCM operations.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and payer guidelines.

 

 

Education & Experience

· Eight - ten years of receivables/operations management experience. Revenue cycle within medical centers or health systems.

· Prior work experience must include revenue cycle management projects and/or responsibilities, and a significant role in a redesign project and/or management experience

· Experience with medical third-party billing and payment management is required.

· Requires Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously

· In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Managed care plans billing

· Multi-state Revenue Cycle knowledge a plus

· Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional manner

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Compensation:  $110,000-130,000 per year
