Senior Accountant Job Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing key accounting functions covering various business processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is ideal for a highly motivated professional who seeks exposure to be an integral part of a rapidly growing Private Equity-backed company.
- Lead the completion of the month-end financial close
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
- Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
- Assisting with preparing financial statements, financial analyses, and other reports
- Performing cash management responsibilities
- Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets
- Assisting with annual and interim audit preparations
- Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
- Performing other accounting duties as required or assigned
Senior Accountant Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or similar discipline
- 2+ years’ experience in accounting or financial reporting
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and stress management skills
- Demonstrates fiscal stewardship of company assets with integrity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
- Self-motivated and comfortable managing multiple tasks at the same time
- Demonstrates the ability to perform responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, requiring excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, and critical decision-making
- Team player with positive attitude and good communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours when needed to deliver results
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and work at computer for long periods of time.
- Ability to communicate via telephone
Work Environment:
- Hybrid – in office in Sparks, MD and remote from home.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $65,000-$95,000
