The role  

The Designer is responsible for executing the creative concepts of the Art team and building layouts whilworking within production guidelines. Throle is for designers who have exceptional design and production skills, ancan implementheacross media and channels. The Designer i s able to seamlessly switch gears between design and production in both the prinand digital disciplines.  

What we expecfrom you: 

Creativity:

Executes layouts and comp-retouching based on ar
direction. Follows branding  guidelines to deliver ancillary pieces based on creativinstruction and marketing need.  

Ability to translatlayouand design across media.  

Design skills:

Knowledge of print and interactive design: familiar with web design, layer comps, iOS platform, desktop applications, mobiland emails. Basic understanding of UI design concepts.

Knowledg
of prindesign, print production and retouching required.  

Branding knowledge:

Ability to desigmaterials truto thbrand identity of producand style guidelines set.  

Project Goals:

Ensurwork is in linwitthgoals of thproject, and thaclienneeds are met.  

Production Skills:

Able to seamlessly switch gears between design and production in both the prinand digital disciplines.

Has full knowledg
of print processes, mechanical builds and quality assurancprocedures. Can produchigh-quality compart for pitches or layout.  

Makes corrections to layouts (art and copy)as indicated by brand team or client.

Reviews
corrected pages for accuracy and completeness of corrections  

Collaborates witArt Directors durinpreliminary/concepting stages of work to provide composite artwork utilizinPhotoshop and/or Illustratoor other current software.

May
also assist in creating or editing charts, graphs, logos, etc.  

Works witCreative and Productioto translate specifications into productioartwork  

Adheres to and monitors agency guidelines related to file naming, file and folder management, scanning, mechanical builds, prepressing, disk prep, back-up/archiving, and un-archivingof digital files.

Keeps Studio Manage
r informed when said guidelines are not beinfollowed.  

Prepares mechanicaand/or prepress files correctly, applying knowledge of commercial printinto the construction of these electronic files, as well as troubleshootindocuments as necessary  

Organizes and maintains a level of quality controover masteart and master logos  

Keeps current with software and industrstandards  

Is a proponent for new efficiencies and techniques  

Assists in traininfreelancers and new employees  

Assists idevelopinbrand guidelines witArt Directors (colors, logos, masteartwork, style)whecalled upoto do so  

Releases perfect, print-readfiles as specified  

Communication:

Open communication with supervisor to shar
progress of work and desigand communicates with arteam.

Is proactiv
in finding solutions for thproject.  

Time management:

Manages timwisely across jobs, meets agreed upon deadlines anis accountabland responsiblfor theiwork.  

Experience:  

Knowledgof agency functions or applicability of experience, previous design experiencin digital and print.  

Background/experience and skills  

BA of BFA degrein graphic design, interactivdesign, advertising or othedesign-related program  

2+ years of experience  

Pharmaceutical advertising agency experience a plus  

Must be able to work flexible hours wheneeded  

Quick anproficient Macintosskills odigital productiosoftware including: QuarkXPress,Adobe CS(Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), AdobeAcrobat, Pre-Flight software  

Knowledge of Macintosoperatinsystem  

Cross-platform knowledge and workinknowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint,Word, Excel

Ability tconceive 3-dimensionally and ability to draw a plus  

Deadline driven, detail oriented, and organized
