Production Operator
Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Operator is responsible for performing all operations related to manufacturing and assembly of high quality products. Flexible to shift rotation and movement between work centers. Must comply with all plant policies, support all 5S initiatives and department/corporate goals. The roles and responsibilities listed are not meant to be all inclusive. The needs of the company may require individuals to perform other functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible to ensure accuracy of their own work and monitor the quality of the previous operation.
- Must perform work according to work instructions and maintain UPH (Units Per Hour) as required.
- Operate equipment safely and perform all functions in the work center.
- Troubleshoot problems and advise Team Leader/Supervisor as required.
- Maintain any documentation required.
- Responsible for workplace safety and adhere to all plant safety rules.
- Maintain clean and orderly work centers at all times as well as to ensure that concerns are brought to the attention of the appropriate personnel for action.
- Work with others on the Team to maximize efficiency and reduce scrap/downtime within the work center. Rotation, training, troubleshooting is included.
- Participate in training, shift and other department meetings, and attend any other type of required training or meeting.
- Support departmental goals of safety, quality and cost reduction.
- Follow all prescribed work standards as written.

EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE:
- High school Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- Experience in manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment.
- Positive attitude and work ethic.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Plant work environment with fluctuations in temperature (hotter in the summer, cooler in the winter).
• Exposure to certain noise levels and bright lights.
• Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, glasses, gloves, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Standing up to 8-12 hours per day.
- Frequent bending, reaching with arms forward/above the shoulders.
- Pushing / Pulling up to 100 lbs. 1 hour per day. (carts)
- Ability to stay focused for extended periods of time.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to analyze information, identify problems.
