Production/ME/Maint’ Assistant Manager

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION

Supervises and coordinates all activities of the manufacturing group from concept development through to production implementation and continuous improvement as well as on-going production support.   Troubleshoots problems and co-originates activities through appropriate support groups to ensure support is received.  Monitors safety, quality, productivity and all other areas of the Plant as needed. The roles and responsibilities listed are not meant to be all inclusive. The needs of the company may require individuals to perform other functions.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Enforce safety regulations. Provide supervision and direction as needed to meet Engineers roles and responsibilities

Recommend and assist in implementing measures to improve methods, equipment, performance, product quality, efficiency improvements through daily information sharing and production reports.

Strive to meet all direct and indirect labor goals.

Address issues of disciplinary action with Supervisors and HR

Oversee and/or assist in analyzing and resolving worker conflicts and problems.  Ensure Team members have the tools to perform and meet departmental goals and corporate expectations.

Coach, counsel, train and motivate Supervisors and other Team members.

Participate, facilitate and oversee evaluations, CFTs, committees, task forces.

Initiate disciplinary action up to and including termination in conjunction with the HR Manager.

Communicate issues to the Manufacturing Manager on a daily basis.

Support all Plant and departmental initiatives.  Promote 5S projects throughout the plant.

Clearly communicate Plant Goals/Expectations and develop/implement plans to achieve.

Follow, explain and clarify company policies and procedures to Supervisors and Engineers.

Mentor/Teacher/Trainer to team members with a particular focus on team building, standardized work, lean and continuous improvement methodology.

Manage factory-wide indicators.(FTT, Scrap, BTS, Overhead, Head count etc.)

Support production, Manufacturing, maintenance Engineers duties.

Other duties, missions, and/or projects as assigned

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

1

Demonstrated knowledge of products, processes, people and systems, prior automotive experience preferred

2

A 4 year Engineering degree and/or equivalent experience and proven track record.

3

Demonstrated communication skills both oral and written.

4

Strong interpersonal skills & ability to work in a team environment.
