Job Description
Using mathematical modeling, CAE tools and techniques, assess component and sub-system performance. Provide design guidance to product development engineering to optimize component performance, improve quality and achieve or exceed customer targets. 
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Support efforts to obtain new business through accurate and detailed CAE simulations, customer presentations and technology reviews while protecting Hanon’s intellectual property.
  • Work closely with product development engineering to offer timely solutions that positively impact project costs, timing, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Complete, continuously develop and maintain CAE methodology for one product line and is capable to complete CAE analyses of minimally second and third product line in required time and accuracy. Improves precision of CAE predictions. Conduct correlation and calibration studies with cooperation of testing operations. Check and confirm the correctness of CAE analyses created by other CAE members.
  • Lead or is capable to lead a small CAE engineering team if required.
  • Lead the identification of CAE technical issues. Skilled at recommending suitable issue resolution actions.
  • Work to develop, deploy and document new or enhanced CAE methods which may improve accuracy, decrease turnaround time, add capability or reduce costs.
  • Participate in internal or external program meetings with engineering and customers, TDRs or other discussions, and effectively explains CAE results and conclusions.
  • Adhere to Hanon, department and CAE team organizational processes.
  • Capable to represent the company at technical conferences, prepare and present his / her own contributions (i.e. articles, presentations, publications, etc.).
  • Communicate and cooperate with global Hanon CAE community for the purposes of CAE data and information sharing and exchange (i.e. simulations, new methods, new technology, HW, SW, etc.).
  • Provide training and coaching to new engineers. Cooperate with external CAE partners, suppliers, and universities as required
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external partners, work collaboratively with other Hanon teams and follow manager’s instructions. 
Years of Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience is required for a Master’s degree.
  • A minimum of 0 years of experience is required for a Ph.D. degree.
Degree Preferred
  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in engineering or equivalent is required.
Required Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with the operation and function of one product line and minimally a second and third product line. Able to translate function and operation into CAE initial and boundary conditions for CAE modeling purposes.
  • Experience and technical knowledge in the efficient utilization of multiple general purpose CAE pre/post-processor(s) and solver(s).
  • Demonstrated capability with Catia V5 CAD tool and basic Linux skills. Capable with one or more computer programming or scripting languages (i.e. Python, C, FORTRAN, etc.).
  • Demonstrated capability in utilizing high performance computing systems for high level CAE simulations.
  • Effective time management, written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to teach / mentor others. Seeks and provides feedback with engineering teams and Hanon leadership. Demonstrated capability to delegate tasks and motivate co-workers.
Special Requirements (i.e. Overtime, Travel, etc.)
  • Some domestic and international travel is possible to other Hanon technical centers, conference, training classes or customer meetings.
