Job Description 

  

This position is responsible for the safety and productivity of all production employees staffed on designated shift, as well as plant security. Additionally, the Team Leader position is accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters.  

  

  

Primary Responsibilities  

  

  • Support and participate in EHS objectives including ensuring the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift
  • Assist supervisor in ensuring security of the facilities during designated shift hours
  • Enforce all safety and processing procedures, including support and driving a clean and safe work place in accordance with 5S protocol
  • Assist as needed in investigations and report all incidents (spills, accidents, poor performance)
  • Train new employees and coach existing employees as needed
  • Communicate respectfully and build a motivated, energized team environment and able to embrace a diverse working culture
  • Read and explain policies and procedures related to each position on the line and ensure standard work is updated and followed per work station.  Ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate to others
  • Contributes to team effort by leading the communication to the line, such as pre shift meetings, assist in delegation of work assignments, training, and continuous improvement activities
  • Prioritize workload to optimize line efficiency and line manpower.  Coordinate line transfers and breaks when needed
  • Knowledge of production and quality goals
  • Perform related duties as assigned, including versatility to work or be moved to any line/injection at discretion of the supervisor or manager
  • Maintain effective communication and able to take direction from Supervisors
  • Monitor and address quality related issues and assist in quality investigations and reporting of all Quality Issues
  • Ability to use in process and end of line testing equipment and gauging tools
  • Assist in changeovers as needed with technical expertise to direct others for effective use of time and manpower
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance as required and work with maintenance to address and report equipment issues
  • Suggest and implement cost-saving ideas
  • Complete daily paperwork, calculate and post metrics on line-specific boards
  • Conduct daily audits
  • Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies as needed
  • Basic data entry skills for recording data to various reporting applications (Leading to Lean, Teams, Excel, shift pass down reporting)
  • Ability to work on another shift as needed
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned

  

  

Years of Experience 

  • 3 yrs in a manufacturing environment

  

Education 

High school diploma or GED 

  

Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications 

  

  • Quality Control
  • Intimate operating knowledge of all available processing equipment and processes
  • Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule
  • In depth understanding of established Hanon values and strategy
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Must have problem solving skills
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must have satisfactory attendance record. Preferred exemplary attendance

  

  

Special Requirements (i.e.: Overtime, Travel, etc.) 

  

  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
  • Must show proficiency in the operation of all necessary equipment
  • Must be able to work overtime to cover other shifts
