Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Description
Position Summary
- Prepares records, bills of lading, packing lists and other documents required for each shipment
- Prepares records of receipts of incoming goods and equipment
- Posts each material and quantity shipped/received into ERP system
- Obtains and provides the appropriate paperwork from/to drivers delivering or picking up goods
- Performs other assigned shipped and receiving administrative and office clerical tasks
- Supports and participates in EHS objectives
Primary responsibilities
Receiving
- Receives delivery documents from incoming drivers
- Administers the driver logbook and check in procedure for all receipts
- Directs the truck driver to the appropriate receiving dock door
- Coordinates delivery appointments and receipt of goods with the warehouse manager
- Notifies warehouse manager when carrier is delayed or late
- Assists or notifies Manager with any delivery discrepancies and applies Hanon Systems USA,LLC protocol regarding conveyance overages, shortages or damage
- Post and/or maintains other receiving records such as good returned, returnable containers, dunnage, etc.
- Reports and may investigate discrepancies between ASN (advance shipping notice) and actual goods recieved
- Creates manual ASN's when ASN not receieved from supplier
- Provides the driver with the signed copy of the bill of lading after the goods have been unloaded
- Assists with tracking and tracing of inbound shipments as required
Shipping
-Administers the driver log book and check in/out procedure for all shipments
-Directs the truck driver to the appropriate shipping dock door
-Coordinates shipment appointments and shipment of goods with the warehouse manager
-Notifies warehouse manager when carrier is delayed or late
-Receives and reviews accuracy and completeness of picking/loading documents and information provided by the order picker/loader
-Posts goods shipped into the business system in a timely manner, accurate and efficient manner
-Prepares ASN (advanced shipping notice), bill of lading, packing lists, and/or other required documents for each shipment and ensures that the quantities, destination, and routings are correct
- Maintain other shipping records such as good returned, returnable containers, dunnage etc.
- Obtains authorized signature for the bill of lading
- Assists with tracking and tracing outbound shipments as required
Desired Competencies, Experience, and Qualifications
-Knowledge of SAP
-Valid forklift and driver's license recommended
-Operate forklift, hand trucks and carts in moving incoming material to designed areas
-Performs other miscellaneous tasks and duties as assigned
- Fills in for other positions when back up or fill in is required
- Trains personnel when needed
-Complies with company safety and personnel rules
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
