SUMMARY OF FUNCTION
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for processing all outgoing shipments and receive certain incoming shipments. This will include processing them in the computer system, working with forklift drivers to pull items, labeling of material and having the trucks loaded in a timely manner with no errors. The roles and responsibilities listed are not meant to be all inclusive. The needs of the company may require individuals to perform other functions. 
 
 
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
·         Process Shipments in SAP with no errors.
 
·         Identify and Label all outbound shipments in a timely manner.
 
·         Support FIFO procedures.
 
·         Ensure the accuracy of incoming shipments.
 
·         Record all incoming shipments in the receiving log.
 
·         Delivery of all incoming shipments to the correct department.
 
·         Communicate with the customer when necessary for any delivery issues.
 
·         Work with Forklift Drivers to make sure the correct parts are pulled and loaded.
 
·         Responsible to maintain organization in the shipping area.
 
·         Coordinate with repack to ensure product is available for shipment.
 
·         Other duties as requested by Management.
 
 
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
·         6-12 months of Shipping or Warehouse experience.
·         Required Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).  SAP experienced preferred.
·         Must be able to work with minimal Supervision.  Forklift experience a plus.
 
 
 
PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Standing up to 6 hours per day.
  • Frequent bending, reaching with arms forward/above the shoulders.
  • Ability to stay focused for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify problems.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Plant work environment with fluctuations in temperature (hotter in the summer, cooler in the winter).
  • Exposure to certain noise levels and bright lights.
  • Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, glasses, gloves, etc.
