Description

Scope: Trouble shoots, repairs and maintains production and production supporting equipment with PC, PLC and Relay logic, PC Databases, as well as Camera Systems, Has strong working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, Precision Mechanical systems and components. Lends Knowledge, as well as trains Team Members. Maintains facilities as well as ensures all Programs and databases are backed up.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Licensed Industrial Electrician 442A. Master Electrician a bonus.
  • Must be familiar with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron PLCs.
  • Familiar with PC/PLC interfaces and must be able to trouble shoot the PC’s Connected to Assembly lines is mandatory.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot PC Database issues (SQL)
  • Must be able to trouble shoot and Set Up Allen Bradley and Siemens Servo Motors
  • Strong electrical Background in Welding and well as Testing of Electrical Components.
  • Strong Electrical Background with Force and Distance monitoring as well as other types of signal conditioners.
  • Must be able to Program as well as teach Robots (ABB, Fanuc and Motoman.)
  • Strong Knowledge with Vision systems( Cognex / Keyence)
  • Strong Knowledge of Laser marking systems.
  • Knowledge of Nut runners an asset
  • Knowledge of Leak testing an asset.
  • Working Knowledge of Servo Presses and the controls
  • Strong Knowledge with Various Machinery Communication (Ethernet, RS232 ETC.)
  • Maintains Controls backup of all PLC/PC as well as Component Program onto Facility Server.
  • Familiar with Highly automated Equipment.
  • Familiar with Serialized Parts and components and the data collection systems to operate them.
  • Familiar with 2d Part marking and 2d part scanning.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to relate/communicate well with people at all levels
  • Must be a self-starter, team player and an active listener.
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills are a must.
  • Willing to take responsibility for work and respond to company needs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures
  • Responsible for looking at new ways to improve safety, quality and productivity.
  • Troubleshoot and maintains production equipment which includes electrical, hydraulic, mechanic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to Set up and operate tool room machines such as lathe, milling machine, grinder, etc. would be a plus.
  • Repair and replace electric and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, timers, any kind of switches, PLC’s, light curtains, motor controls, etc.
  • Use different PLC programming devices including software to modify and to read logic control programs
  • Run new power supply lines to new and relocated equipment according to Hydro Codes and other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Wire new control panels according to drawings and verbal instructions under consideration of Hydro Codes and other applicable standards and regulations.(ESA standards).
  • Pass on information, experiences and knowledge to other maintenance employees in regards to repair jobs, preventive maintenance, problem symptoms, etc. which he/she got involved with during his/her shift.
  • Listen to information, experiences and knowledge passed on by previous shift maintenance employees, to ensure effective, non-repetitious problem solving and machine repair.
  • Select and specifies hydraulic, mechanic and pneumatic components for purchasing purpose.
  • Maintain and take ownership in work order and preventive/predictive maintenance system by filling in the required forms.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment as outlined in the individual IATF 16949 work instructions.
  • Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by the maintenance manager.
  • Ensure work area and machines are kept clean, organized and tidy at all times.
  • Store equipment and tools properly when not in use.
  • Inform the Maintenance Manager or depending on the shift, inform the Production Supervisor to the best of his ability about unusual things, faulty design, unsafe conditions, missing parts, etc.
  • Work in a cost effective manner and maintains a high standard of quality and excellent workmanship.
  • Adhere to the standards and rules described in the Employee Handbook.
  • Open to new systems which are occasionally established within the department and company.
  • Conduct in a manner consistent with those practices leading to the safe operation of the division and displaying leadership, concern and a safe work ethic.
  • Perform other duties as required within his/her abilities.
