Description

The Operations Manager position directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving
  • Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Develop and control profits, plans, and budget
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries
  • Manage capital asset maintenance
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards
  • Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses
  • Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs
  • Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel
  • Provide direction, development and leadership to production supervisors
  • Support and participate in EHS objectives

Years of Experience
 
  • 10 years manufacturing experience
 
Degree Preferred
 
  • BS Engineering
Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications
 
  • Extensive plant operation experience as a Production Supervisor, Area Manager, or Plant Manager
  • Manufacturing process engineering experience
  • Facility construction experience
  • Launch experience including new plant start up
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  Able to interface effectively with product development, manufacturing locations, and equipment and tooling suppliers
  • Climate experience with HVAC, A/C lines and heat exchangers preferred
 
Special Requirements (i.e.: Overtime, Travel, etc.)
  • Position may require travel potentially including worldwide
  • MBA preferred
