Operations Manager
Description
The Operations Manager position directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving
- Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
- Develop and control profits, plans, and budget
- Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries
- Manage capital asset maintenance
- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards
- Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs
- Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel
- Provide direction, development and leadership to production supervisors
- Support and participate in EHS objectives
Years of Experience
- 10 years manufacturing experience
Degree Preferred
- BS Engineering
Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications
- Extensive plant operation experience as a Production Supervisor, Area Manager, or Plant Manager
- Manufacturing process engineering experience
- Facility construction experience
- Launch experience including new plant start up
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to interface effectively with product development, manufacturing locations, and equipment and tooling suppliers
- Climate experience with HVAC, A/C lines and heat exchangers preferred
Special Requirements (i.e.: Overtime, Travel, etc.)
- Position may require travel potentially including worldwide
- MBA preferred
