CMM Programmer

Description

Scope: Program CMM for inspection of product, gauges, and tools. Performs all dimensional layouts using CMM and other measuring equipment and prepares layout reports.  
Skills and Qualifications 
 
Education:  Equivalent to Completion of Community College (2 Years) or Specialized Trade Courses. 
 
Experience:  5 years of previous experience working in a similar capacity within a manufacturing or automotive industry. Technical Skill requirements include Blueprint Reading, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, MSA, Gauge Usage, Statistical Process Control, and IATF16949 Procedures. Proficient at CMM Programming (Calypso and/or PC-DMIS software). 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
 
  • Develop and maintain CMM Programs.
  • Carry out Quality Assurance activities relating to the laboratory to ensure that the customer and the Company’s quality targets are met.
  • Develop and maintain the annual layout program.
  • Develop CMM programs and perform inspections for prototype parts required by Hanon ENG R&D Group.
  • Performs layout on products, tooling, gauges, fixtures, and other equipment as requested.
  • Prepare layout reports
  • Assists with the PPAP process
  • Assists with the gauge control process.
  • Perform gauge R&R study, gauge calibration, gauge maintenance, and gauge repair when needed.
  • Ensure that there is sufficient CMM & other measuring equipment hardware (such as probes, stylus,….) and place orders when needed.
  • Participates in quality planning/improvement activities.
  • Responsible for training personnel on CMM and other Lab equipment.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
